The Bill of online shopping from Taobao in 2011 (CN)
Taobao launched an annual report “the bill of online shopping in 2011”. It shows for example, that the south of China has more consumption power than the north such as Guangdong province (14.2%), Zhejiang province (12%) and that people who are older than 30 spent more money (15.000 RMB per year) on online shopping than young people (1.0000 RMB per year).

China’s third party online payment continues to maintain strong growth in 2011 with an estimated total transaction exceeding 2 trillion yuan (2,203.8 billion yuan or USD 349 billion), up 118%. Alipay is still the dominant player in China’s online payment with 49% market share, followed by Tenpay and China Pay. Online shopping in China continued rapid growth in 2011, reaching 800 billion yuan.

Baidu has a new beta version with a functionality similar to “google +1” and “facebook like”. In some search results users can see how many times this link was recommended by other users. But until now there is no official communication from baidu.

According to iResearch, the fastest growing B2C website in 2011 by total number of orders is womai.com (owned by China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation; or, COFCO), followed by vjia.com (owned by VANCL) and yaodian100.com.
